Description

ay Retreat is a stylish house right in the heart of Skinningrove with the seaside and beaches a mere five mins walk away. The house is on two levels with a ground floor garage and utility, this benefits from safe cycle storage and somewhere to store your muddy boots or sandy shoes there is a small garden with patio and lawn to enjoy the late afternoon sunshine.
This lovely light and airy house would make an ideal retreat for friends and family to enjoy time together as it sleeps eight in four bedrooms and is large enough for the whole family to enjoy quality time together. There are also eight apartments and four houses in this complex which can be booked together if you are planning a family celebration or group trip with friends. If you are looking for a seaside stay which is near to Whitby, Staithes and Saltburn but has the tranquillity of a small coastal village, these apartments are for you. The beaches are quiet and sandy, with a backdrop of grassy hills and cliffs. Close to the apartments is a small holiday park where you can eat at the restaurant.
There is plenty to do in this area, a visit to Saltburn where you can experience a ride on the Cliff Lift which is one of the world’s oldest water-powered railways or visit the Saltburn Miniature Railway which is a 15 in (381 mm) gauge railway, a must for railway enthusiasts.
If you prefer splashing about in the sea then the coastline holds national surfing events during the autumn and winter months, attracting competitors from all corners of England, Scotland and Wales.
Annual events include the Saltburn Custom Classic Car Show a display of mostly American cars and the Saltburn Festival of Folk Music, Dance and Song.
You can’t stay in this area without a visit to Iconic Whitby with its beaches, piers, restaurants and cafes, the Cistercian abbey said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” and a favourite with the Goth community. No stay is complete without some fish and chips eaten in the outdoors on the Victorian bandstand looking over the beach and sea.
